I'm a little behind on reccing this one. RL threw me some business, and it took me THREE DAYS to read this, but it was worth it!
Wonderful storytelling! This fic twists and turns the reader on an emotional roller coaster up and back on the time line, and yet I never felt lost - that's a master at work, I tell ya!

Suspense, hope, yearning and peace! what more could we want from a story!

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who read, voted and commented on my fic for the [info]snarry_games. *loves*

I'm glad I didn't know at the beginning how many of you are librarians/archaeologists/historians and/or are in love with Egyptology, or I never would have plucked up the courage to tackle this chunk of history. :)

Thanks to my Snitchy team mates, my indestructible beta army, the members of Team Cauldron who have made me cry (in the good way) with their touching comments and to all the readers who took a chance on a PG-13 AR set back 2000 years before they were born! *so much love*

You still have lots of time to read and vote if you haven't had a chance yet. No pressure, though. I know this is a busy time. :) *hugs* Oh, and if you're not really a Snarry shipper, don't let that scare you. PG, remember? heh.

Author Notes I had such a wonderful time researching for this fic. I quickly fell in love with the language and landscape of a civilisation that thrived for nearly thirty dynasties, and I realized that I had bitten off quite a staggering section of history. I purposely left the city, palace and Pharaoh unnamed. They were created from elements of several historical and biblical sources. Here's one thought I'd like to leave you with before you read: The ancient Egyptians believed that the source of human thought and emotions came from not from the brain, but from the heart.


Summary: After using accidental magic to turn Pharaoh's would-be assassin to stone, an orphan suddenly finds himself with new rooms, new clothes and a new title: Palace Magician. When told he must choose a personal servant for himself, he selects someone who doesn't seem long for the world – a former priest and healer accused of murder.

It has a cult following among many of us who love vampires, werewolves, ghosts, etc. Barnabas Collins is the vampire in the series. Harry is in the role of Vicky Winters whose point of view the series is from for the most part. I encourage anyone and everyone to go check it out. Most of the episodes are condensed and available on Youtube. :D

I've never seen Dark Shadows, but I loved the setting of the old manor house in this crossover - I thought really complimented the HP world. She put so much work into this, and the song is a perfect fit for the tone/mood of the piece.

Genderbender/crossdressing seems to be a very popular theme on my team. I can't believe how many creative and original ideas are coming up from the same genre. We have the 'Harry's fed up with his celebrity and wants to hide' cliché, but the spin in this fic is that he finds a way to hide/live life as Lily. I love the scene where Severus remembers when Harry first comes to him in an out-of-date dress and a shabby red wig, so desperate to be anyone else but himself. It's such a heartbreaking moment - that Snape uses to his advantage. :)

Author Notes/Disclaimers/Betas: Memory is such a fluid thing that if you ask ten people to recall an accident they just witnessed, each will give a different account, focusing on different things. Even in our own memories when we recollect events, we often focus on totally different aspects of the same event, not recalling it exactly as it happened at different times. So I used this device, not quoting canon moments verbatim, but providing a flavour of the moment, if you will. However, if this troubles you, call it writer's privilege, or if you prefer, think of it as eddies in the time stream. (someone should fetch him out). There is a tiny homage to Minerva as she is portrayed by the redoubtable Dame Maggie Smith in HBP.

That all said... enjoy!

Summary: First, Severus had to make sure Harry died. Now he has to make sure Harry lives.

Great use of the genres and prompts. If you're a fan of time travel and de-aged Snape, this is the fic for you. There's time line issues, a new Snape family member, and a whole pile of people get a second chance at happiness. Now, who doesn't like that? :)

It was really fun to see Harry and Snape fused into this universe. If you've never seen Pushing Daisies, don't worry, the narrative style of the show is incorporated here to lead us all through Harry's days as if we were right there in the pie shop with him.

A/N: Having discovered (in Episode V: The Death Eaters Strike Back) that Nagini's venom is only deadly to males, Severus The Sky Walker takes a temporary gender switching potion, enabling him to survive an otherwise fatal trap. What he does not know is that one of the elixir's rare ingredients was contaminated, turning him into a true hermaphrodite. It also activates any latent Creature genes the user might have ... and the change is permanent.
