Well, what can I say about Chicago and Terminus?
FRIGGIN' AWESOME!
It was a little tricky trying to make sure I got equal husband and fandom time, but I had a blast!
The weather was perfect, the company was the best, and I have so many wonderful pictures that it might take me until September to upload them all! :D
Dude. I made so many new friends, and reconnected with all the kindred spirits. What could be better. *so much love for the Terminus clan*

(or how to use the HP world to your advantage in fanfic)


Ok, so I'm doing this AWESOME workshop at Terminus with two other lovely ladies, and part of my job is to come of with 2 examples in H/D fanfic where someone comes back from the dead, or 'lives on' in a creative way.

I have one already, but now I need one more (old school or new). I've been in a crazy headspace lately (and haven't really read anything in weeks), so I'm coming to you for a little brainstorming help.

So, read any interesting fic lately with a cool 'coming back to life' scene? (feel free to suggest your own fics if they fit the bill)

What I need is a link to the fic, and direction (cut and paste for me?) as to where I can find the best section to read to the workshop attendees. From there I will go get the author's permission, if I decide to use their fic.

So, what's game? Anything! Did a portrait somehow get a body again? Did Harry get reincarnated as a Great Dane? Or maybe Draco becomes a high-functioning zombie and runs for Minister? ok, it doesn't have to be as crazy as that, but I'm kind of looking for unique.

Ok, I so suck!
I forgot to say happy birthday to [info]allifer, [info]photinus and [info]lasairfhiona! I hope it was awesome! We had an impressive thunderstorm here, so I hope you had better weather in your corners of the globe - unless you like thunderstorms, then it's all good!

Happy 4th to all my Americans! I have quite a collection now, and I have grown rather fond of you. So fond, in fact, that [info]glockgal and I think David Suzuki should have Al Gore's babies, and then we'd all be related! *nods*

Word Count: 8500 (+-)
Summary: A reporter once asked of me, ‘Sir. If the most notable moments of your life were to be documented for the stage, how many acts would there be, and what would they be called?’ I was of a mind to ignore him, and yet an answer came to my lips—much to my surprise. “Four acts—in no certain order: Death of a Father, Death of a Servant, The Bridge, and The Arrival of the Boy." There is also this movement, a fifth and final act that I neglected to share with him. It has no title as of yet.
A/N: This fic is a result of three months of research, three weeks of deciding on the appropriate direction for voice and POV, three massive migraines, and three dollars worth of late fees at the library. My apologies to Sir Horace Jones and Sir John Wolfe-Barry, the actual architects/engineers of the Tower Bridge. I borrowed your landmark with utmost respect. Please don't haunt me for too long.
